The Environmentally sealed Weather Pack connector series utilizes a Pin and sleeve style terminal system that is manufactured to withstand exposure to extreme temperatures, moisture, harsh engine compartment fluids and chemicals.
Voltage rating: 0.05 to 16.0 volts
Amperage: 20 Amps
Pin and Sleeve type
Plating: tin plated and have special core wings which allow crimp-only terminations which eliminate the need for soldering.
Dual lock tangs on each terminal to firmly secure terminals into the connector housing.
# 1 Question we recieve - What is a Female connector and what is not?
A Female connector is called the "Tower" looks like a male but is not - It takes a Female terminal
A Male connector is a "Shroud" and people confuse this for a female. - it takes Male terminals
** Exception to the rule - When a Weather Pack is used on a device such as a Throttle Body, EGR Valve, or a MAP sensor they typically use a female Tower connector but use "Male" terminals.
** Not all Weather Pack connectors are created equal and in some cases there may be several different housings that appear the same but are not. Most of the differences are the index slots on the towers and it's mating connectors.
The connectors are subjected to various tests from the manufacturer and in most cases include but not limited to: Temperature, Humidity, Dust, Thermal aging, Salt water immersion, current cycles, Isolation resistance.
Weather-Pack seals are made of a self lubricating silicone and are multi ribbed to prevent moisture and other contaminants from entering the connector and causing terminal corrosion, prior to crimping the seal is placed on the wire and then crimped to the terminal.
Used to block off a cavity on the connector if no terminal is to be installed.
** We have arranged the listings in such a manner that when you click on the "more info" button you will see the item and below that will be all of the associated components to complete the assembly and any other useful tooling to complete the installation.
